This 8×10 photo has been personally hand signed by the New York Mets third baseman Howard Johnson. Johnson was a member of the 1984 and 1986 World Series champion. In 1992 – 1997- he held the career National League record for home runs by a switch hitter. In 1987-1996- he held the single-season National League record for home runs by a switch hitter. In 1989 and 1991- he was a member of the National League All-Star team. In 1989 and 1991- he was the winner of National League Silver Slugger award for third basemen. The Oakland A’s selected David Newhan in the 17th round of 1995 amateur draft- and made his MLB debut with the Padres in 1999. Endy Chavez was in the Mets’ minor league system from 1996 until he was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2000 Rule V Draft. The centerfielder played for the Royals in 2001- the Expos from 2002-04- and split 2005 between Washington and Philadelphia before coming to the Mets for the 2006 season. Chavez had his best year yet in 2006- when he hit.306 in 353 games. Then- on October 19- 2006- during the sixth inning of Game Seven of the NLCS at Shea Stadium- Chavez made one of the most spectacular postseason defensive plays ever when he robbed Scott Rolen of a home run by snagging and pulling down a ball that Rolen had crushed and sent well over the fence.
