The New York Yankees hope that pitcher Philip Hughes will follow in the tradition of Derek Jeter- Mariano Rivera and Bernie Williams by becoming the next Yankee great to emerge from the Bombers’ farm system. Hughes was selected in the first round the 2004 MLB Draft- 23rd overall- and by 2006 was considered by many to be not just the best prospect in the Yankees’ system- but the top prospect in baseball. Yankees fans may get to see Hughes’ nasty fastball and killer curveball as early as this season. Philip Hughes has hand signed this 8×10 action photograph.
