Football rules were first written in England. The English first brought football into France in 1863, forming their first club. The first official international match which is recognised by FIFA was played between Scotland and England on November 30 1872.. This game was played under the Football Association rules. The following year England became the first team in the world to win an international football match when they beat Scotland in London..
The creation of the Football League was inducted in 1888 by Aston Villa director William McGregor. Clubs who supported professionalism were initially twelve founding members.. They contained of six from Lancashire ;Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Bolton Wanderers, Accrington, Everton and Preston North End and six from the Midlands; Derby County, Notts County, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers who took part in it.

Manchester United gained a comfortable position at the top of the Premiership, with Chelsea as the contender.. Liverpool,Arsenal and Everton contended same way for the European positions.
