Football rules were first written in England. The English first brought football into France in 1863, forming their first club. The first official  international match which is recognised by FIFA was played between Scotland and England on November 30 1872.. This game was played under the Football Association rules. The following year England became the first team in the world to win an international football match when they beat Scotland in London..

The creation of the Football League was inducted in 1888 by Aston Villa director William McGregor. Clubs who supported professionalism were initially twelve founding members.. They contained of six from Lancashire ;Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Bolton Wanderers, Accrington, Everton and Preston North End and six from the Midlands; Derby County, Notts County, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers who took part in it.

manchester was the top team of England. In1904 it won the FA Cup. Further show superiority of the game came with Liverpool, who successful two league titles in 1901 and 1906, and Everton, who won the FA Cup in 1906. Arsenal won two more titles and the FA cup in1953 but could not keep the pace afterwards for nearly two decades.. Liverpool after success a title also suffered the same as Arsenal. Manchester reemerged and won the legue title in 1952,1956 and 1957. Eight players were killed in air crash.

After 26 years Manchester won the premiership league and went on to dominate the English football in 1990. During this year they won five league titles, one league cup and  one winners cup..Manchester United’s outstanding victory has continued. Arsenal won matches in 2002 and 2004. It did not lost a single league game through out the season. United, still managed to win another FA Cup in 2004 and the League Cup in 2006.United also won the league trophy in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2007. Manchester United gained a comfortable position at the top of the Premiership, with Chelsea as the contender.. Liverpool,Arsenal and Everton contended same way for the European positions.

The English national football team represents England in international football and is controlled by The Football Association; the governing body for football in England..The English national team during this period played in a rough road to their success. England team is in top 20 countries. They could not achieve success. They played upto quarter finals.They unsuccessful to qualify for the 1994 World Cup but reached the semi-finals in Euro 96 and lost on penalties to Germany at the semi-finals.  They also got automatic qualification for the 1998 World Cup, losing to Argentina on penalties in the second round..The reign was marked with little success, with England did not succeed to qualify for the 2008 European Championships. 2010 sees the FIFA World Cup, get ready for the biggest sporting event and hopefully enjoy!
